How To Fix Freezing iPhone, iPad while updating iOS 7.1.2

Settings > General > Software Update
Tap Download and Install.
Once the installation is complete, in normal case, your device should reboot with an updated iOS version. Repeat the above process for couple of times if device has not been updated.
