Since the jailbreak is still in its early stages, it has the risks and bugs associated with any software on a beta version. Steps To Follow When Jailbreaking iOS 10.1 – iOS 10.1.1 Using Yalu
1st Step: Use a USB cable to connect your computer to your device.
2nd Step: Open the Cydia Impactor app, then drag-and-drop the IPA file.
3rd Step: The Cydia Impactor will prompt for your password and Apple ID, enter them.
4th Step: Here, the Cydia Impactor has started to sign the Yalu IPA. Once complete, the “mach_portal” icon will appear on the screen.
5th Step: For the app to launch, the trust the developer profile must be located. This is done by going to Settings -> General -> Profiles & Device Management and then tapping on the profile with your email address. Then confirm after clicking on the “Trust” icon.
6th Step: The “mach_portal” app should be launched by going back to the home screen and clicking on the Yalu/Mach_Portal icon.
7th Step: For the next 15-20 seconds, a white screen will display and that indicates the jailbreak has begun. Don’t interrupt the process until it ends.
8th Step: After the jailbreak is complete, the device will reboot automatically and the Yalu jailbreak icon and Cydia app will appear on the Home screen.
Important To Note
Your device is finally jailbroken, but since this is a semi-untethered jailbreak, every time you reboot your device the Yalu/mach_portal app has to be launched for re-jailbreaking to happen. You must also note that though Cydia is fully functional, it is not stable and you cannot install many tweaks.
If you discover that your device has developed issues after the jailbreak, it is advisable to restore it to iOS 10.2.
